B is for Bad Service
In the little town where I live, there are a million chain restaurants and a few hometown spots. After volleyball practice or after a game or just hanging out with friends, we go to these chain restaurants and we go every 2-3 weeks. We know the wait staff at some of these places and they know us. When my family frequents an eatery that we have been to several times, I expect the service and food to be on spot. WELL, we went to a place recently for hamburgers and not it wasn't McDonalds or Burger King, but it's well known for their steak burgers and shakes. The service was BAD BAD BAD.
My daughter orders a cheesy cheddar burger and it came out looking like a dried up McDonald's cheeseburger, we had to ask 3-4 times for a refill of her coke, she had to ask for ranch dressing 2-3 times, the waiter told me mother in law that they couldn't find any lettuce for her grilled chicken salad then when they found it, it didn't have any grilled chicken on it! BAD!!!
I'm not a complainer because I know people can have "off" days, I do sometimes, but I complained and low and behold, the manager contacted me by phone and sent us a $40 gift card for our trouble! We will go back to this place with or without the gift card, but I won't soon forget the BAD service we received. I will give them another chance.

Lisa... I hear ya on the whole bad service front. They say if you have a good experience you tell two and you have a bad one you tell twenty. Unless you're doing the #atozchallenge... Then you tell 2,000 Bloggers who tell 200,000 readers...lol Cheers Rhondi from Ya Gotta Laugh About It!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I'm loving this #atozchallenge!
DeleteIt's nice that they acknowledged it! Now, hopefully they will get their act together in the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteA couple years back we went to a chain restaurant, and we both ended up with the worst case of food poisoning. We called just to let the restaurant know, hoping they might be able to prevent others from the same. We didn't call in hopes of a refund, but the manager did not comp our meal, or send any sort of gift card (I don't think we would have used it anyway). They just said, oh yeah, there were a few people that got sick. Needless to say, we have never been back, and have some great names we call them!
I think one problem is, people don't take pride in their jobs anymore. It's kind of sad.
DeleteBad service is bad service and it doesn't improve if no one complains. Well done. I am very pleased at the very bad service I received in several fast food chains because it made me so cross I stopped eating there altogether. I have not set foot in a ffrestaurant in almost a year and my body is very grateful. Happy A2Z blogging
ReplyDeleteI had gastric bypass last year so I don't eat fast food anymore. We do not eat Taco Bell or McDonalds, the kids don't like Burger King and the only "fast food" we eat is Chick-Fil-A and I eat a salad. Good for you on not eating it.....it's so bad for you!
DeleteOh my! At least the manager was gracious.

DeleteBad service does turn you off, but I'm glad you're willing to give them another chance-- maybe they'll do better next time?
